The Rise of Alex Cooper
In the realm of podcasting, few names have made as significant an impact as Alex Cooper, the host of the acclaimed podcast ‘Call Her Daddy.’ At just 31 years old, Cooper is not only captivating listeners but also courting the attention of SiriusXM executives who are eyeing her as a successor to the legendary Howard Stern. That’s all good and fine, but Sirius has to realize it’s 2025 and there are not “faces” of stations like there was 20 or 30 years ago. So, as bad as Howard Stern has become ( So bad he has to fake contract issues with Sirius to get attention), the idea that everyone will subscribe to Sirius to listen to a 31 year old with a podcast called ” Call Her Daddy” is a stretch lol.
SiriusXM’s Strategic Bet
Insiders and industry experts suggest that Cooper is being carefully groomed to take over Howard Stern’s throne. A hollow throne at that because Stern hasn’t been “The King Of All Media” since the late 90’s.The narrative is clear: while Howard continues to be a figure in the radio world, his relationship with SiriusXM has reportedly cooled although he is likely to come back in some way so he can continue to disappoint listeners with boring guitar talk. Sources believe that the network is pivoting towards the future, and Alex Cooper is at the forefront of that vision. “She’s the one Sirius is betting the house on,” stated an anonymous contact. Nobody’s saying she’s not popular or talented but in this day and age with a million options to listen or watch online, their is no one person who is must listen to radio anymore with the exception of maybe Joe Rogan and even that’s debatable. It’s not 1995, where you get up and put your radio on to listen to Howard Stern or Mike Francesa and see what their opinion is on a particular event from the day before.

A New Era in Entertainment?
The buzz around Cooper is palpable, with increasing evidence that SiriusXM is investing in her brand. From prominent promotions to being featured at every significant event, her rise is meticulously orchestrated. Executives are embracing this wave of change, explicitly stating, “Howard’s the past. Alex is the future. End of story.” As the podcasting landscape evolves, Cooper exemplifies a refreshing new era characterized by innovation and a unique connection to her audience. Howard is the past for sure but the future is whoever you want it to be, not just one person anymore. Gone are the days where radio listeners followed the call of someone like Howard Stern like sheep.
