An Introduction To MJF

Before becoming a major star in All Elite Wrestling (AEW), Maxwell Jacob Friedman, commonly known as MJF, was a prominent figure on the independent scene. In the summer of 2017, as talent began to show their true colors outside the limelight of mainstream wrestling, MJF was quickly gaining attention for his charisma and in-ring skills. At the time, MJF was killing it on Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW) among other promtions at the time.

MJF’s First Of Two Appearances With Sam Namo In 2017

During the summer of 2017, Sam Namo hosted several guests from Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW) on his show called Team LeftJab Radio. MJF was among the most talked-about talents during these discussions. His natural ability to connect with fans and his distinctive heel persona made it evident that he had star potential long before he stepped into the larger arenas of professional wrestling. It was a no-brainer to get MJF on for what would be two interviews with Namo before MJF really blew up in wrestling.

A Glimpse into MJF’s Early Vision

In one of his interviews with Namo, MJF candidly shared his thoughts on the wrestling business back in 2017 and his aspirations for the future. These discussions unveiled his perspective on what it meant to be a performer and the drive that fueled his ambitions. Even then, MJF showcased a remarkable understanding of the industry, foreshadowing his eventual success.

Looking back eight years, it’s captivating to see how MJF’s journey began. His willingness to learn, adapt, and evolve within the wrestling landscape not only paved the way for his future in AEW but also redefined how aspiring wrestlers approach their craft. A heel MJF is the closest we have to an 80’s heel Roddy Piper.
