Known for its extreme matches, controversial storylines, and underground presentation, XPW became one of the most recognizable names in the early-2000s hardcore wrestling scene.
Black was also involved in adult entertainment and radio, bringing an intentionally provocative, shock-oriented style to his wrestling promotion. XPW eventually closed in 2003, but its cult following and influence on hardcore wrestling have kept Rob Black and the promotion remembered by fans of the era.
